Kendra DeFrank, MA, LCPC

Kendra DeFrank, MA, LCPC

Kendra is an energetic and passionate therapist who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, among other things. Kendra began her career as a therapist in the Eating Disorder Program at Linden Oaks Hospital. After extensive training, she has been providing outpatient therapy since 2008. Kendra believes that you can fully recover from an eating disorder and she utilizes a variety of techniques to help her clients heal.

In addition to treating eating disorders, Kendra has expertise in the resolution of depression, anxiety, body image concerns, grief & loss, and trauma. Kendra is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing). EMDR helps clients heal from trauma, which is really any experience that impacts someone negatively. Sometimes underlying traumas are the catalyst for the development of eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. If this is the case, it is important to heal these traumas in order to fully recover from the other presenting problems.

Kendra has also become well known for her effective self-esteem work, helping teens and young adults navigate identity development during the difficult years of high school and college, and helping survivors of sexual abuse or sexual assault fully heal.

When Kendra is not doing therapy, she enjoys slowing down in nature, a good sunset, cooking, and spending time with her husband and three children.
